Waveski surfing combines the thrill of surfing with the stability and maneuverability of kayaking. Participants sit atop a specialized kayak-like craft, the waveski, and use a double-bladed paddle for propulsion and balance. This allows surfers to catch and ride waves in a seated position, performing maneuvers similar to traditional surfing, such as turns and cutbacks, while also offering unique possibilities for aerials and paddle-assisted tricks.
The sport caters to a wide range of skill levels, from recreational wave riding to competitive freestyle and wave events, making it an accessible and exciting way to experience the ocean's power.
The waveski is also often the choice for adaptive surfers. Adaptive surfing also known as para surfing, is a dynamic and inclusive sport that enables individuals with physical disabilities to experience the thrill of riding waves.
It involves modifying traditional surfing techniques and equipment to accommodate a wide range of abilities. Adaptive surfing not only provides physical and therapeutic benefits but also fosters a strong sense of community and empowerment, allowing participants to overcome challenges and enjoy the exhilaration of the ocean. Visit Waveski Surfing United for adaptive surfing options for those with disabilities.

Our paddle events also welcome surf kayaking, white water kayaking, stand up paddle boarding and prone surfing. Many of our members are enthusiasts and all-around ocean sports lovers who partake in many different surf craft.
Many of our members and attendees are always eager to introduce, give guidance and loan equipment to those interested in trying out a particular surf craft.
For those interested, we always suggest making the trip to one of our events, sign up for our monthly emails or send us an inquiry through email or contact form.
